Sonic Driller

Must have experience with the following drilling methods and field tasks:

  • Sonic drilling (Boart Longyear or TerraSonic drills)
  • Rock coring
  • Instrument installation
  • In‑situ testing (CPT, packer testing, PMT, etc.)
  • Standard Penetration Testing (SPT)

Key responsibilities will include:

  • Supervise crew on shift during various operational activities
  • Lead daily meetings on Safe Work Procedures
  • Maintain a safe work environment
  • Document daily activities in a logbook
  • Provide the operations team with re‑supply requirements as needed
  • Provide on‑the‑job training to crew personnel
  • Perform work‑site assessments for safe and productive task completion
  • Supervise drill helper(s)
  • Operate the drill rig to advance and retract tooling
  • Coordinate moves and crew changes with supervision staff

Professional Experience and Qualifications:

  • Valid Class 5 Driver’s Licence (Class 3 preferred)
  • Valid BC Water Well Drilling Licence (geotechnical / sonic) preferred
  • 3–5 years’ experience operating a sonic drill
  • Mechanically inclined
  • Ability to pass a pre‑employment drug and alcohol test

Geotechnical Driller

Must have experience with the following drilling methods and field tasks:

  • Air rotary
  • Mud rotary
  • Rock coring
  • Instrument installation
  • In‑situ testing (CPT, packer testing, PMT, etc.)
  • Standard Penetration Testing (SPT)

Key responsibilities will include:

  • Supervise crew on shift during operations
  • Lead daily meetings on Safe Work Procedures
  • Maintain a safe work environment
  • Document daily activities in a logbook
  • Provide re‑supply requirements as needed
  • Provide training and mentorship to drill helpers
  • Perform work‑site assessments
  • Operate drilling equipment and tooling

Professional Experience and Qualifications:

  • Valid Class 5 Driver’s Licence (Class 3 preferred)
  • Valid AB/BC Water Well Drilling Licence preferred
  • 3–5 years’ experience in geotechnical or environmental drilling
  • Mechanically inclined
  • Ability to pass a pre‑employment drug and alcohol test

Geotechnical Driller Helper

Key responsibilities will include:

  • Participate in daily safety meetings
  • Assist drillers in all operational activities
  • Maintain equipment as directed by the driller
  • Maintain site cleanliness
  • Report accidents and near misses
  • Assist with work‑site assessments
  • Assist with fueling and light equipment maintenance
  • Assist with loading, unloading, assembly, and teardown of equipment
  • Assist with subsurface sampling

Professional Experience and Qualifications:

  • Valid Class 5 Driver’s Licence (Class 3 preferred)
  • 1–3 years’ experience in geotechnical or environmental drilling considered an asset
  • Mechanically inclined
  • Ability to pass a pre‑employment drug and alcohol test
  • Ability to work in remote locations for extended periods
