Foundex has extensive experience delivering offshore and nearshore drilling services across a wide range of marine environments. Projects have been completed along the coast of British Columbia and Vancouver Island, as well as in Washington State, Panama, the Gulf of Mexico, and the Caribbean. Foundex has conducted marine drilling investigations in tailings ponds, rivers, foreshore, nearshore, and offshore settings, working in water depths exceeding 150 meters and advancing boreholes more than 125 meters below mudline.
Foundexās offshore capabilities support geotechnical and environmental investigation programs and include ināsitu soil sampling, CPT, vane testing, vibracore sampling, bedrock coring, and overburden coring. Operations are executed from a range of marine platforms, including spud and anchor barges, with drilling and testing programs tailored to siteāspecific conditions, water depths, and project requirements.
To support shallowāwater and nearshore marine programs, Foundex also operates a selfāelevating jackāup barge that provides a stable, fixed working platform once on location. The jackāup configuration elevates the deck above the water surface, reducing the influence of waves, currents, and tidal movement during drilling and testing. Equipped with a central moon pool and capable of supporting drilling rigs, CPT systems, and associated equipment, the jackāup barge is well suited for coastal, nearshore, riverine, and intertidal environments where controlled access and platform stability are critical.
With specialized marine equipment, experienced crews, and decades of technical expertise, Foundex supports safe, efficient, and reliable offshore drilling programs in some of the most challenging marine environments.
