Richard began his career at Foundex almost 40 years ago. For over half that time he worked in field operations on geotechnical and construction drilling projects onshore and offshore as a Driller and Drilling Supervisor. This gave him a deep understanding of the drilling industry and how to complete highly technical programs. With this extensive field experience, he moved into a technical and project management leadership role to support the team.

Much of the equipment and tooling used by Foundex on projects has been designed and developed by Richard. This includes many of the unique methodologies and approaches that are proposed to clients to complete projects.

During his time in the field, he has worked across British Columbia, Alberta, Saskatchewan, Quebec, Yukon, Northwest Territories, Nunavut, Alaska, Panama, Barbados, Saint Lucia, Sakhalin Island (Russia), and the Gulf of Mexico. Richard has been instrumental to Foundex’s success over the past four decades and was appointed President in 2026.

In his spare time, Richard enjoys spending time with his wife and grown kids, while keeping an eye on his pack of dogs. He can usually be found chasing a white ball on the weekends at a golf course.

John brings over 30 years of hands‑on experience in the drilling industry, all of it with Foundex. He began his career as a Driller’s Helper and steadily worked his way up to Operations Manager. John’s extensive background in a wide range of geotechnical and specialized drilling methods provides a strong foundation for overseeing Foundex’s diverse and complex operations.

His career has taken him across North America and beyond, with projects spanning Alaska, Panama, the Gulf of Mexico, and as far as Russia.

Outside of work, John loves to golf and catch up on sports.

Josh is Foundex’s Contract and EH&S Manager, joining the team in 2014. He began his career as a Driller’s Helper and has advanced through the organization, building a strong foundation in field operations, safety leadership, and project execution.

Prior to Foundex, Josh worked in exploration drilling across the Territories and Northern Saskatchewan and has experience in foundation drilling throughout the Metro Vancouver area. His background supports a practical understanding of both field challenges and project requirements.

Josh is a highly detail‑oriented Lead Estimator with a strong command of contract review, risk identification, and pricing accuracy. His ability to align scope, cost, and execution supports well‑structured, reliable project delivery.

Outside of work, he enjoys raising interesting plants and excellent little humans—proof that he values strong roots both on and off the job.

With over 16 years of hands on experience, Max brings a diverse background spanning manufacturing and geotechnical drilling. Max spent the first 10 years of his career as a Production Manager, followed by three years as a Driller’s Helper with Foundex, gaining practical, on site experience. Max has spent the last three years as Foundex’s Fleet and Maintenance Manager, focusing on fleet and facility management, logistics, procurement, and operations.

Outside of work, Max enjoys spending time outdoors and tackling projects around the house. Between work and kids, “free time” often means falling asleep on the couch before the show he picked even starts.

Dakota began his career in the construction industry, spending nearly a decade working as a contractor completing exterior stone and tile installations. In 2022, he completed Construction Safety Officer (CSO) training and began transitioning into a health and safety role, driven by a desire to support workers and encourage open communication when conditions do not feel safe. Dakota joined Foundex in 2023.

Outside of work, Dakota can be found tackling random yard projects, browsing for live music tickets, or getting ready for a weekend hockey game.

Paul began his career as a geotechnical drill helper in 2007. He quickly moved up and started drilling while going to school to complete a Bachelor of Science in geology. Since then, Paul has worked as a consulting geologist and physical hydrogeologist, as well as in drilling operations and management. He has a diverse background, leading and managing teams and projects and providing technical oversight of a variety of investigations for environmental, water resource, geotechnical, mining, and construction projects.

Paul has worked in the Yukon, British Columbia, Alberta, Saskatchewan, Ontario, Quebec, and Nova Scotia, supporting projects across the mining, energy, municipal, construction, and infrastructure sectors. Paul joined Foundex in 2025.

Outside of work, Paul spends as much time as he can outdoors with his young family and dog, often dragging them to new places to hike, camp, ski, and explore local geology, or, if he’s really lucky, to crew an event while he tries to run long distances.

Gregg is a Civil and Geological Engineer with over eight years of experience in geotechnical and structural construction. He started his career in Singapore, working on large scale residential projects involving deep excavations, piling, and earth retaining systems in challenging coastal conditions. He later moved into contract administration and operations management on high rise developments in China before moving to Vancouver to complete his Master’s degree in Geological Engineering at UBC. Gregg joined Foundex in 2024.

Outside of work, Gregg enjoys spending time outdoors with his family and patiently practicing fishing—mostly the “casting” part.
