Becker

becker drilling

Foundex’s Becker Hammer drilling system combines the driven energy of a diesel pile driver with reverse circulation air lift and dual‑wall casing to deliver efficient and continuous subsurface sampling.

Dual‑wall steel casing is rapidly advanced through unconsolidated materials such as sands and gravels using a double‑acting Link‑Belt diesel pile driving hammer. Compressed air is injected into the annulus of the dual‑wall casing, lifting cuttings to the surface through the center of the casing and discharging them through the spout hose and into a cyclone. This method maintains a cased hole while enabling representative, continuous sample recovery in challenging ground conditions.

Foundex’s Becker Hammer drill is equipped with a bounce chamber pressure readout and pullback testing capabilities, allowing it to perform both the Becker Penetration Test (BPT) and the Instrumented Becker Penetration Test (iBPT). These tests provide valuable data for geotechnical analysis, particularly in dense or coarse‑grained soils.
